I have today bought a Carrara hybrid bike. One my first ride my weight was forward causing my wrists to complain due to arthritis. I need to be sat more upright but I am told that the handle bars can't be raised.
Has anyone got any suggestions or suggest a different bike?

More upright doesn't mean necessarily more comfortable.
Try moving the saddle back and/or put the nose slightly higher.
  • Try some ergon grips if it is a hand problem

    Or bars with more rise.

Unless you have flat bars try rotating the bars a bit, maybe you wrists are a little to bent back

Saddle forward on it's mounts, or with an inline post will sit you more upright, as will a riser stem or riser bars or bars with more backsweep or a combination of all of those!

As well as the above, you can also use a higher rise stem.
