Dilemma.... Advice please

Hello all,
I have recently bought my first road bike, a cannondale CAAD 8 Sora 2013. I've had it 7 weeks and paid £700 for it. I'm really enjoying cycling and plan on continuing to do so.
My dilemma is that my friend recently offered me his old felt f85 for £250. Its the 2012 model and has a 105 group set with some mavic wheels. Other than that the bikes are very similar.
My plan was to sell the cannondale in order to buy the felt, do you guys think this would be a good idea in view that the bike has a better group set/ wheels?
Many thanks,
Tom

He couldn't of offered it to you before you bought the cannondale? That seems very cheap for a bike that's a year old, why is he selling? I think it would be silly of you to sell your 7 week old bike because you will make a massive loss on it, but if you want the felt and could find room/money its pretty common for people to have more that one bike-you could have a winter and a summer one"It never gets easier, you just go faster"0

Yeah I wish he'd offered to sell it before I bought my cannondale..... it's awful timing as I'm also getting married a week Sunday, otherwise I'd of just bought and kept a second bike. The reason for him selling is that he mainly does downhill mountain biking and he bought the felt on a whim, he's also a technophobe and "doesn't understand eBay", which has is the reason he wants to sell it to me.0

Buy it as a wedding present to yourself. Swap the components over and use the Dale as your best bike and the Felt as a wet weather bike with the Sora on it. Simples. A 105 group set would be more than £250, just buy it. You would be upgrading your current bike and gaining another one for minimal outlay. Surely the Mrs would see the sense in that?!0

It's a bargain, I'd take it off his hands, although beat him down to £200 . Even if you use for spares.0 -
Buy the bike, ride out the storm with the mrs-think of it as a last rebellion before marriage!"It never gets easier, you just go faster"0

Yep . I'd be tempted to swap the bits over such that you have a 'best' bike, probably with the 105 groupset on, and the rest will go onto your winter bike. As long as s-1 is maintained then it's all good0

I feel my arm being twisted here.....
A few of you have mentioned swapping the 105 gear-set onto the cannondale frame, is there a reason for this? Is the Cannondale frame considered better than the felts?0 -

Just because it's newer I guess. Same if you keep using the Cannondale frame but with the 105 group you haven't really changed your bike0 -
I can't see the connection between buying a bike and getting married. Probably why I'm still single
Would one of the bikes fit the wife-to-be; it could be a nice way to spend some time together!0 -
Is your friends bike the same size as yours? If it's different then that's a good reason to swap the bits and keep the frame that fits you best.0
-
Frame size is identical and the colour scheme / graphics are very similar..... I'm starting to think I'd be stupid not to take my friend up on his offer :twisted:0

Unless it's knackered - just buy it ... £250 for 105 kit is a bargin ...
if you can't buy it then post the friends number on here - someone will bite his arm off!0 -

Unless it's worn out and battered of course. Plus make sure it's proper 5700 105 with the cables routed under the bar tape etc.0 -
Or stolen.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0

I go along with that. Nice new Cannondale with 105 groupset and use the felt in the winter when its raining and the roads are crap!
As mentioned, you could sell the 105 components on Ebay for £250 on there own. It's a bargainif its all in good condition and you should snap his arm off quick0 -
