Sore balls

My last 2 rides I have had a numbness on one side of my groin and then pins and needles. After that for days after I get an aching pain down my left groin. Is it nerve pain? Any thoughts what's causing it. I'm overweight use padded shorts but its getting to the stage that its too painful to go out on the bike
