Rear brake odd sound

Hi all,

I recently bought a Basso Loto 105. Carbon Frame.

If I am going at any speed and use the rear brake there is an odd clunck sound. It sounds similiar to someone tapping on the frame of the bike. The faster I am going the faster the sound.

I have checked the rim of my wheels and nothing seems odd there, brakes are lined up perfect.

Any ideas?? Thanks.

Check for any metal shards/pieces in your brake blocks. Use a pin/needle to get them out.

Is the rear caliper securely bolted to the frame? Are all the rear brake cable outers firmly located in their stops? Is the short section of outer next to the caliper properly routed and not interacting with the frame in some way when the brake is operated?

Can you reproduce the effect when off the bike and looking at the caliper while you operate the brake lever?

Thanks for the advice, I will give this a go today.

The brake does not make a sound when off the bike. Without the added weight when I apply the brake the wheel stops instantly.
