Went into this shop today looking for a mountain bike, and i must say that it is the worse bike shop that i have ever been in. The selection of mountain bikes on display was very poor and the shop had a feel about it as though it was shutting down. How some of these shops make a profit is beyond me.

    Evans are worse than Halfords.

Terrible shop if you know what your on about. Not bad if you aint got a clue, just terrible customer service/attitude!

Will never spend another penny with them jokers! LBS All the way
  • If you want a good, independent and local LBS near Liverpool.

I've had nothing but decent service from Evans, maybe I aint got a clue though. Have bought two bikes there, they spent a lot longer than any other bike shop I've bought from in getting the right frame and setup for me, for one bike I was in the shop for an hour whilst they made adjustments before they let me out for a test run. When I've had problems, usually manufacturer, they take the bike back, no questions, and fix it.

When I compare this to LBS that I've used who replaced a crankset on a bike I bought from them without checking the BB length, after a couple of times of them trying to fix the front derailleur gearing problems as a result, they gave up telling me that the performance was as good as it was going to get.

Chains/LBS quality of service all depends on the staff and/or owners IMHO.

Evans in Cardiff clueless the both times I've been there and the same comments of a lot of guys I ride with, just a high end Halfords in my opinion.
