Etrex and cadence sensor pairing

I`m using an Etrex 30 with a GSC 10 cadence sensor, works fine; Swop to bike 2 with a different sensor, doesn`t find it. Garmin Support have recommended reset GSC 10 etc, will solve issue .
It doesn`t; now they say GSC 10 is faulty--it isn`t as both work fine with Edge 705
Anyone out there solved this issue ?
