Sheffield stands

I'm planning on putting a Sheffield stand in my back garden for securing our bikes.

I've seen one website which lists them substantially cheaper than elsewhere - sub £30 whereas prices north of £80 seem more common.

See here: cyclestorage4less.co.uk/category.php?Catid=22931&gclid=CJag-KT497gCFQ_LtAod8XcAHQ#null

Anyone know if this type of product is any different to the more expensive types?

Does the cash saving equal a security compromise?

Those ones are galvanised or glav/powder coated. Are the others you have seen stainless steel?

Provided you don't scratch the galvanising it should last just as long. Powder coating it as well would stop the stand scratching your bike.

One of the important things with Sheffield stands is making sure they can't be unbolted and slid off the locked bike. Make sure the legs are in a decent amount of concrete into the ground or you use security bolts that can't be undone.

Could you put a shed over the Sheffield stand as well to keep the bikes out of view? (and keep them dry!)
