Hi I'm really new to all this and could really us some advice. I've recently bought a Trek 1.2 and need to purchase some mud guards. I've been looking at the Crud Racer Mk2, does anybody know if they'll fit? Or is their a better set to purchase? I'd rather buy something decent that will last then something cheap and ill fitting.

Thanks
Grant

I've got a 2010 Trek 1.2 and it's got Crud Roadracer Mk2 guards fitted. I've also had them fitted to my Carbon racer without problem, and that bike has next to no clearance.

You could also try SKS raceblades. Get the 'Long' version. Easy to fit and light. I can fit my 25mm tyres for our 3rd world roads in them as well:

Lets hope they install without a hitch

the 1.2 has bosses for proper mudguards - i would send them raceblades back and get a set of sks chromoplastic, they are so much better
    i need more bikes

+1 big mistake getting the cruds when your bike has the clearance and eyelets for proper guards. I'd recommend the SKS Longboards. Got them fitted to my Trek 1.5 winter bike and they're second to none for coverage. Take your time fitting them and you shouldn't need to touch them again. Cruds are fine when there is no other option, but they're noisy and flimsy and need constant adjusting.
