The cassette I have on my bike is a 12-27 (105) and I was thinking of putting on a 28 at the bottom end. I have only been able to find a 11-28. Can you get a 12-28?

But my main question is - I have removed the cassette to clean it, and I can see the numbers on all the rings except the last three which are joined together. So there is a 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19 and then the last three only have C1, C2 & C3 on them. Why don't the have the sizes on also? And how do I tell what size they are?

On the reverse of them I can see the numbers 12-27 on, but nothing on those rings.

I know it is a 27 but wondered how to tell without having to count them :D

Anyone know if I could fit a Ultegra 12-30 cassette on? I'm off to honister, Hardknott & Wrynose soon so just thinking ahead

    At a a guess, I'd have thought they'd be 21, 24, 27.

As Ber Nard said the final 3 cogs are 21,24 and 27

You can opt for a 12-30 if you want a bit more gearing for the really tough climbs. I've done this in the past using a Tiagra 12-30 (about £20) but there is also an Ultegra 12-30 on the market but it's nearer £45 if you want to spend that much.

Thanks I'll have a look at the Tiagra one. May be worth it in terms of cost when it will only be put on when I'm doing a really steep climb!
