Going away with work, take a bike?

Going over to Spain in Sept for a few days with1 free day, so was thinking about taking or hiring a bike. Having never take a bike abroad just wondered if anyone who has experience of taking a bike on a plane? Or would I be better hiring one there? The plan is to have one full day riding then get up early 2 mornings and also early evenings. Any ideas on costs for the extra baggage? Think my LBS hire bike bags for £10

If it's only for a day I'd just hire one. Otherwise it's a lot of hassle and expense to pack the bike properly.http://www.strathspey.co.uk - Quality Binoculars at a Sensible Price.

Every airline has different baggage rules so you will have to checkout the Ts and Cs of each airline that you're considering. There are plenty of threads on here about travelling with your bike, there's even a really helpful pilot on here who regularly takes his bike with him.
