Charge Scoop first impressions

So then, the new Charge Scoop is it any good?
Well mine arrived today and it went straight on my Ribble Gran Fondo replacing the stock Selle SL.
Why did I want to change? Well after lots of great reviews on the Charge Spoon I purchased it for my commuter bike which is a B'twin T3. As per the reviews I found it had excellent comfort and support. I've done 100km+ riders on it and it felt great, so I was looking forward to the improved Charge Scoop for my "good bike".
First impressions. Well the design is amazing. very clever how they have integrated the seat cover and the base. It is like two sections molded together to form the seat. No stitching, no staples underneth etc. Very elegant.
Don't be put off by the microfibre cover. It is super, smooth, comfortable and looks like easy to clean (I went for white).
So just finished my first ride. As soon as I got on it felt very comfortable. I'm 120mm sit bones so its 143mm width was perfect. It flexes over the london bumpy roads, and had a nice design for upright or on the drops. After an hour of riding, it still felt great. I've had other saddles, where I kept changing positions trying of ease a bit of pressure here and there. Not with the scoop. All positions were great.
How does it compare to the award winning Spoon?
We the seat cover is much better. Not stitching to cause chafing. The design is miles better than the spoon. And i'd say for comfort, support and feel, the scoop is TWICE as good as the Spoon.
I think the guys at charge are right when they claimed that the scoop is an upgrade on the Spoon. I completely agree.

Thanks for that.
I've had 2 Spoons so far and am very happy with them except for the stitching so it looks like the Scoop is the perfect replacement!0 -
Thanks for that. I am looking to replace my Defy saddle, and the stitching had deterred me from the Spoon.
How do you find the slightly raised bit at the front of the Scoop?0 -
Actuall the front isn't raised - quite the opposite.
The profile is the rear is raised, which then flattens in the middle and then arcs downward at the front.0 -
Oh, OK. So no unneccessary pressure on your vital parts then?
I read the Road.cc review and they tried to articulate the profile of it. It's the only thing putting me off a little.0 -
If you have the saddle bars level (with a spirt level) then you actually find that the saddle is tilted very slightly downward. I tried it on the drops and didn't find major pressure on the private parts. But everyone is different.0
