Been out of the country for 5 months, brakes where a little noisy but fine when I left, got the bike out today and it's as though the pistons have moved since, they brakes are now locked on, I've tried pushing the pistons back in but it didn't seem to work.

Any advice?

If they are overfilled the increase in temperature will expand the fluid and do just that, get a bleed syringe on the lever and then push the pistons back and catch the overflow.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

In our experience, Avids are well-known for sticking pistons if the brakes are left unused for periods of time. No idea why this may be but we see it regularly in the worskhop.

Tried putting the syringe on the lever as mentioned, didn't seem to work so switched it to the caliper and bingo, then bled the air out the system, lever travel seems a little long whilst its on the stand but once riding, got plenty of bite, still as noisy as ever though. Thanks for all the help
