I was knocked off my bike the other day and came round to checking it and i've noticed that when the bike is upside down and i turn the wheel that it's swaying from side to side.

Is this normal when it's like this or am i need of new wheels? :(

sounds like it needs fixing as result of the crash. get it to a bike shop for sorting.

I would also get the whole bike checked over.

It could simply need 5 minutes work with a spoke key to true it, or it could be unrepairable. Best have somebody who knows about wheels have a look at it.

Absolutely and in particular the frame geometry. It's not unheard of for forks to be bent (steel frames). Once your wheel is sorted you could try riding hands off that should be a good indication if something is not quite right with the bike.
