I hve a friend who is the proud owner of a crashed Cannondale Super Six. When he crashed the top tube broke in half at the mid point(a complete break) although it still matches up (so to speak). Thinking about taking it off his hands if he offers it to me. Free that is(I've helped him in the past). Anyone ever have something like this fixed???? :?

It'll be a 'bandage' repair where an extra layer of material is wrapped around the joint, so aesthetically it won't look great. Plenty of carbon repair specialists should be able to repair it.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Yup - as per Monty. Do it and get riding.

I have a friend who had the same problem on an Addict.

Repaired it looks almost as new, the only difference is that in decent light you can see the fibres where it was repaired while the rest of the frame is black. Graphics were repained over the repair really well.

Be careful to check for other damage, take advice from the repairer but otherwise go for it. Since you're in the US Calfee seem to be one of the companies worth talking to -

EDIT - It's not an endorsement as I don't have personal experience with Calfee. I have seen the name a lot online though so they're probably a good place to start your research.

Yup, probably repairable. As mentioned Calfeedesign has been doing repairs longer than anyone I know of in the US and are one of the best but also expensive. This place gets recommended often and usually less $$. http://spydercomposites.com/ You also might ask around for someplace closer to Toledo. Shipping a frame gets expensive. Good article about CF repairs here. http://www.bicycling.com/maintenance/re ... ame-repair

Thanx for the responces. Guess I'll see if I can talk him out of the frame and give it a shot.

Why doesn't he get it repaired and use it?

Well, for one, he just bought a new EVO to replace it(see my post on "what the hell is that string for" in workshop.
So I'm kind of working my way around to having him "GIVE" me the broken one because I'm such a good friend and what does he need it for? He's a kind of bike hoarder anyway so he won't miss it. In any case that's my thinking.
