seems like a hge issue with having an expensive bike is the risk of theft - is there not an alarmed chain lock out there ?

seems like a decent deterrent

  • If someone wants to take a bike. An alarm won't stop them.
I store mine in the house.

Yes there are, there are loads on ebay - they don't look very sturdy as a rule but could be used in conjunction with a proper lock if you're somewhere an alarm might make a difference (if your bike is stored in the shed outside the house overnight for example).

One of the bikes in work had one and it was too sensitive, I found out about it when I locked my bike up and heard the siren going off cause the vibrations through the rack triggered the alarm, not helped by somebody stamping on the frame to trigger the alarm

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
