A couple of days in the lakes

Hi everyone,
Me and the Missus are getting in to a bit of road riding in trainning for an upcoming event. (the coast to coast). We've have gotten up to the 50 mile mark comfortably.
We're off next week and looking to head to somewhere like the lakes for some more challenging terrain and better scenery.
Could anyone suggest any routes near lake windermeer?

Drive north to Ambleside, park the car and then ride on a small road going west to Little Langdale. It's a fairly quiet road.
You could do a loop involving Wrynose Pass & Duddon Valley, nearly all on small roads with great scenery.
