Hi there,

I have a question for all you people out there on behalf of my dad.
He's just had his Trek hybrid bike serviced and has been told that his rim is wearing and he needs a new one. Have any of you had a wheel rebuild with a new rim for a Bontrager SSR 622-14 24 hole rim??

I can't find anywhere that has them! Any comments, suggestions, advice is much appreciated :?

Thanks

I'd be surprised if anyone's had a rebuild of that specific wheel and assuming they're low-end wheels it's likely to be cheaper to get a new wheel...
Honestly I think most people only rebuild the wheel if the hub's in good order and worth keeping. You haven't said anything about the hub, so it's difficult to guess!
Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.
  • Thanks....it's pretty much what I said to him but I just wanted to see what other people thought ;) I'm guessing that the hub is fine but it is probably only marginally more to buy a whole new wheel and much easier.

Thanks for the response, happy cycling!!
