Hi there. Does anyone know if a mtb sprocket can be safely adapted to fit truvativ Luftalarm/Holzfeller urban cranks. I've heard that the two crank arms are the same. But that the luftalarm was sold for bmx with a bmx sprocket. and the urban for mtb with a spider that attaches to a mtb 4-bolt chainring. I can't find a spider anywhere and have even spoken with SRAM who say that it's all discontinued. These cranks have an unusual 2-bolt affair to attach a sprocket which is completely different to any other crank.

Has anyone managed to adapt a mtb sprocket by drilling new holes? or found any other solution to this problem?

If the normal MTB ring bolts to a spider you don't have, it's almost certain it will be too big to bolt in direct, you can get MTB rings with spider for specialised cranksets though, I don't know much about them!
