After three incidents in SW Leicestershire in looks like the thundering c**tbucket who's pushing cyclists off their bikes is moving south into Warwickshire: http://onlinenews.warwickshire.police.u ... um=twitter
He then became aware that the silver vehicle was travelling alongside him. The passenger had his window down and verbally abused him before opening the car door causing him to fall from the bike. The passenger is then believed to have got out of the car and kicked the cyclist and hit him over the head with a plastic jerry can.

A rogue motorist and accomplice are believed to be travelling the countryside, pushing cyclists off their bikes and driving away.
In the past week, three people have reported a silver BMW to the police after being either pushed or forced off the road by the vehicle.
Police say they are looking into the possibility of a link between the three incidents, which all happened in the south-west of the county and involved an old silver BMW.

Stay safe!

This is something that I actually worry about more than getting squished by other road users. Not getting squished is something that I can generally control by not being an idiot and being aware of what is happening around me and positioning myself correclty on the bike.

There is no control of random people behaving like cnuts.

    Some people are beyond belief.

Sadly if caught and prosecuted they will get done for some minor offence and fined 2'6 rather than facing substantial periods in prison for an attempted murder or some other suitable offence

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 20’s was assaulted and knocked off his bike near Woodlands Farm on Ansley Road, Nuneaton at 19.40hours on Saturday 27 July as he was cycling away from Nuneaton towards Ansley.

That's just over a week ago - not a month ago.

The Police at least are describing the incident as an "assault" in their press release rather than talking about it in terms of a traffic offence

    Missed that...

however: changing the search parameters reveals something interesting:

    http://road.cc/content/news/85095-witne ... broken-arm
Avon & Somerset Constabulary have appealed for witnesses to an assault in Yate, South Gloucestershire, that left a cyclist with a broken arm.

According to police, the incident took place in the town, 12 miles northeast of Bristol, at around 10pm on Saturday 8 June.

The witness appeal continued: “The victim, a man in his 50s, was cycling past Tesco Express on Station Road when he was involved in an incident with two people in a silver BMW.

“The victim turned into Cranleigh Gardens where the occupants of the car followed him, pulled him off his bike and assaulted him. They then drove off leaving him on the floor with a broken arm.

“The occupants of the silver BMW were a man and woman in their 20s.”

Police say that they have opened an investigation into the assault after it was reported to them and have asked anyone with information to contact DC Celia White by calling 101 and quoting 55000/13.

Might be worth an email to both police forces to make sure that they've spotted the similarity.

I tweeted it to them and it's apparently been passed on to the investigating officer.

Yeah, email? Get with the programme grandad!
Must admit that I remember seeing this Yate incident a while back. Yate has always had a bit of a, erm, reputation (I grew up a few miles away), so I wasn't that surprised, but it is suspiciously similar to the Midlands cases.

So they didn't know the similarity then?
