Hello all,

I have recently bought the following as a surprise build for my gf:
1370356182-89886800.jpg
Shimano_RS30_wheelset_white.jpg
prod_24001.jpg
Ritcheywetlogic2white.jpg
And a black 105 5700 groupset.

Peripherals are:
fwe-gel-cork-bar-tape.jpg
cubierta-vittoria-rubino-pro-iii-plegable-700x23-lima-negro.jpg
bc61683.jpg?width=570&height=428
And 2 Zefal white and green water bottles which I am struggling to find a decent pic of.
Coloured valve caps as well, either pink or green, not decided yet, maybe one of each!

I have already sourced a carbon wrapped Scott seatpost (No branding at all) for the princely sum of £10 in the CRC sale, but am now deliberating over the saddle.

From other threads I have pretty much decided to go for a Selle Italia Gel Flow Diva - these are my two options, both with pink/purple detailing:
selle-italia-diva-gel-flow-bicycle-saddle-womens-sitsad0760-11.jpg

My conundrum is whether to stick with my caron wrap seatpost, or to get a white one such as this:
fsa_sl-250_seatpost_white.jpg?width=570&height=428

And either way, what combination should I go for?

I found this image on here from another white bike owner (Houston26) to give some kind of comparison:
imagejibw.jpg
Frame is not that dissimilar, and it has white bars and stem, but of course the Scott will have lime tape.

I don't want it to be a white out, but then I also want it to look as good as it can.

What do people think......please vote and let me know your thoughts!
Thankyou in advance :-)

Wow, that's gonne be 1 gurrrly bike! I will vote white and white although she might have to be attentive at keeping the white saddle clean.... Nice present though. Can I be your girlfriend?

    I'd go white/White.

Although, as said in the other thread. Charge. - they do custom saddles....Sella have also some nive white saddles with green stitching. Not sure that they have female specific though although i didnt google to hard. Have a look at westbrook cycles.

Will she ride in the winter?

If so who will clean the bike?

If the answer is you, then you my friend, have made a big mistake!

It will be quite gurrrly, but am hoping the limeness of the other parts will still keep it looking like a nice machine.
As flattered as I am by your offer I will have to say no ;-)

I had a look at Charge saddles, and they do a superb range of custom saddles (Tempted to get an all yellow one or black leather with yellow detailing for myself!), but regrettably only for the mens Spoon saddle, naff all options for the ladle :-(

Looks like white/white is the favoured option so far then.

She will likely ride in the winter, however not on this bike - she has a Tricross with guards, and potentially her existing Trek 1000 may stay, so this will be a 'best' bike.

Seatpost needs to match the stem, saddle needs to match the bar tape.

    I'd start again.

Seatpost can match stem easily - I can do that for £30.

For the bar tape to match the saddle I would seemingly either need to go with white bar tape (Not going to happen) or black, which I think is a tad boring personally.

I personally think the lime green tape is going to look lovely and vivid, but just wish there was more saddle colour choice, I think Charge are missing a trick by not offering a custom version of the ladle personally :?

The only other ladies specific saddle I saw that I liked was the Fizik Arione Donna (I have an Arione myself) but I fear at 130mm option only, it will be too narrow.

Forget the winter, white bikes get dirty all year round (as I've discovered :().

Go for a black saddle and black tape then. There's too much white on it as it is! They tyres will look out of place if you dont get a black saddle and black tape (or get some white tyres?)

It's black mate (105 5700), pretty much the same as the Spesh I posted further up.

The votes are going the way of white at the moment!

Yes, I voted white too. What about cables? :)

Bright Pink cables will provide a nice contrast with that purple. Or go for yellow. Either way, its gonna turn peoples heads (in disgust).

Cables I was just planning to stick with the default black cables with the groupset - for my own I have gone for yellow jagwires though :D

:D Mine is a matt black SL, going to be fitted with Zonda's, carbon stem, bars, and seatpost, with subtle (to me) yellow highlights here and there, as in valve caps, bar tape, some on the seatpost, cabling, water bottle, Fizik Arione saddle with yellow stripe, oh and a black 105 groupset as on the above bike.

May be something I can get stuck into on paternity leave!

    Good luck!

I hope you don't plan on keeping them though, your kid's not going to want to learn to ride a bike with you if you go out looking like that!

I wasn't sure if you meant the bike or the children then!
The bike will be the epytomy of style I tell you!

Aha, I only say that as she is very happy on a Specialized Jett 143 saddle, my problem being the only option is black, and of course as it is a surprise I cannot ask her what she wants to do, but have to make an executive decision.

The Continental tubes I tend to use come with yellow valve caps.

Just found this pic of a stock Contessa CR1 - looks to have white bars, stem and saddle, but also a dark seatpost.

Seems to tie in quite well with the black hoods, and of course this one will have black chainset also.....
