Having realised that the Peugeot frame that i acquired is not going to be suitable for my needs, I'm in the market for a frame.

I have looked at the usual suspects, Ribble, PX etc and also Custom builds (but to expensive) and wondered if i am missing something.

I want a bike that will take drops, normal 10 speed 700c wheels and also have guard and pannier mounts, Basically I want a Ribble Winter/Audax, but am I over looking anything in the <£200 price range.

I had a look at these, I dont want a disc specific Bike. I want something will take calipers, I have everything for a build except the frame.

    Spasy,

    That looks very promising....

Any idea of geometry on these? Slane have the medium and large in stock, but I can't source a crib sheet for sizes from anywhere on the web...

Can be run with cantis, fittings come to install canti brakes too. Just have to buy the right forks.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

When do you want this by/for?

  • You can pick up a kinesis T2 frame for under £200, but that doesn't include the fork.

It has mudguard and rack points. I did consider one myself but I think I'm going to go CX instead.

Ah shame as I'm planning on selling both my Ribble and trek 1.7 framesets

    I'm 5' 9 1/2" with short legs

The 1/2 makes all the difference ;-)

What size are they? I am thinking of going for something smaller (52) as my current 56, just feels to big although it does fit.

I am around the 5'10" mark.

Interesting that I am 1/2 inch taller yet find the 56 slightly large.

PM what you want for them and any pics, might be able to twist my arm if the price is right.

It wasn't on Slanes, it was on a different site. You recommended the frame to me before and I found the link to the geo, but it's dead. If I remember it's a pretty relaxed geo. Not CR1, but getting there.
    Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX
    Race - Fuji Norcom Straight
    Sun - Cervelo R3
Winter / Commute - Dolan ADX

I can't even find the thread now. It was easy at midnight when I was shattered. Maybe I hallucinated it.

he is probably trading up for a Venge or something italian for commuting....

Kinesis is looking likely at the moment.

Veronese, where did you source yours from? and what did you get? Frame, Fork and Headset?

Got mine through Sigma Sport on Cyclescheme. Frame and forks came with headset. I also ordered the brakes through them. Got the groupset from Ribble using Paypal balance from the sale of my old Kona and hand built wheels from Ugo.
I still haven't put mudguards on it, although you can. I've become a complete tart and will avoid them until the weather turns really nasty.

I think I am going to go for a racelight...

Might have to give my LBS a nudge to see what they can do.

I have all the parts for a build sitting in spare room in various Shimano/PlanetX boxes... just no frame to sling 'em on.
