Swapping FSA Gossamer for 105 Chainset
Just a quick request for guidance on compatibility please.
I have a Giant TCX1 with FSA Gossamer MegaExo Compact - 46x36
was going to locate and fit a bigger big ring but the 105 Chainset from Merlin seems like a no brainer, can anyone tell me if the 105 kit fits the FSA MegaExo Integrated bottom bracket?? I think they are both 24mm but I wasn't sure if being a CX frame the BB was different at all, EDIT its a Press-fit AL86 24mm BB currently if that matters...
any help gratefully received
Then its just standard of compact I used to run a 53 in the past, but I was younger and fitter then :P

Straight swap - no need to change the bottom bracket, but worth checking the condition of the bearings whilst you have the cranks off,Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

awesome thanks MD, I suspected as much from my 'net searching, but good to here it from someone who's a bit more bike literate than myself
I was so convinced I was going to go for it, but they only have 39/53 in a (172.5 that I currently have only as thats what came with the bike), Not sure now whether to go for that or stick with a compact 34/50 ina 170...
knew it couldn't be that easy...
am I going to notice the 2.5mm shorter crank length? I know I know only I can tell that I guess, just as I'm happy with the 172.5 it made sense to stick with it, but I'm not sure I'm up to a 39 inner ring even in flat old Norfolk, there are a couple of hills of note for an out of shape FB LOL.0 -
Doubt you'd notice the difference in crank length TBH.0

Thanks, I pondered 'Rule 5', and went 39/530
