Just noticed wear on the rear derailleur outer as shown in the picture caused by the front brake calliper.

Is there a way of routing the cables so this does not occur?

run it on the other side of the brake cable - or alternatively, just don't worry about it.

I got this on an older bike. Stick a bit of black tape on it. Its only a cable not paintwork

Canyon do natty little rubber boots that fit over cables to prevent this: have a quick Google and I'm sure that some monkey mud plugging site will do the same - if it rubs in the frame you can also use doughnuts (not the food so loved by our corrupt and news International secret payment taking boys in blue but small round rubber doughnuts shaped things that sit over bare cables and stop rubbing/twanging on frames).

Otherwise, as above - remove cable and outer and re-route new one so it doesn't rub - 2 minute job.

Just route the cable the other side. Quickest way is to whip the brake caliper off and thread it round the gear cable. No messing with undoing cables at all.

Good quality clear tape such as "Helicopter tape" on Ebay won't be visible and will protect the paint.
