Spokes - Breaking News

I have a 700c disc specific hybrid wheel. In the last month I have broken 5 spokes. At what point do I give up, man up and buy a new wheel? On 2 occasions LBS has replaced and rebalanced, last 2 are DIY. Any wheel truing tips would be welcome OR a place where I could get a new one without expending too much cash. Finding a replacement has been very, very difficult. Any market tips also welcome.

if it's old or badly built they may simply all be fatigued
replacing just the failed spoke is not a great idea, the adjacent ones will have been subjected to extra load and may be more likely to fail later, i had a rear ds one go last winter, changed the failed plus one each side, still all ok
if the hub/rim are in good nick, get a pack of spokes and nipples and rebuild itmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
I have built many disc specific 700 c wheels and never a spoke broken... the ones I have built for myself have done about 6000 miles and lots of cobbles and offroad, even with panniers... not a broken spoke... it's all in the build quality man...left the forum March 20230

Ugo, Ugo... not sure your wheels are worth rebuilding... most wheelsets that come with the bikes have low quality hubs. But yes, your spokes are fatigued and will keep breaking... you do need new wheels or a rebuild if rims and hubs are in good nick.
