Scratches, lacquer bubbling and remedies

Hi everyone

I recently returned my few days old Triban 3 to Decathlon Surrey Quays (dreadful service and attitude from the mechanics by the way) to have the gears adjusted, which they hadn't been, got the bike home and noticed the mechanic had scratched the frame. I wasn't too bothered until I read elsewhere that scratches can sometimes, over time, cause the lacquer to lift, bubble and break off, resulting in something rather unsightly. I haven't noticed this on other bikes of mine that have scratches and hadn't heard of it. I just wondered if anyone else had.

As for remedies, any ideas? Reading around it seems nail polish is as good as any. Just need to find a suitable red.

Thanks oxoman. That's more or less what I thought. Bike will be kept indoors and I try to avoid rain, extreme weather etc. Panic over.

PS - Does anyone know if Humbrol enamel model paint can be used. The reason I mention it is because the colour seems to match well.
