Confused about brake pads

I have a trek 1.5 of 2011 vintage. I checked the brake pads recently and think I maybe have a few weeks left on them. The calliper s are tektro and the brake pads are of the cartridge replaceable type. Metal holder with pad insert etc.

Are replaceable brake pads all the same size and style? I was planing on getting swisstop green pads but they are a bit expensive to get the wrong ones.

Thanks for any help

Just get the Shimano cartridge version of any pad and it will fit your Tektro cartridges. The Swisstops would be my first choice and followed by a close second the Koolstop Salmon pads.

I have (I think) Tektro brakes on my Boardman Team Carbon. I recently swapped the pads out for SwissStop FlashPro BXP (the blue ones). Massive improvement in stopping power, control. No cheap but thoroughly recommended for alloy rims.
