Hello,

As some of you may have read on a previous post i'm having massive problems with rear axles.

Anyway, after many sources of advice it appears i need a new wheel.

I currently have a claud butler billy basic mountain bike. It currently has a free wheel setup on the rear with a banana shaped solid rear axle.

I've been advised to get a halo rear wheel as they're known for their strength. I've been looking at the Halo SAS Pro http://www.halowheels.com/products/part/WHHAS56W

Does the 48H refer to the number of spokes in the wheel? Also I'd like to keep a solid rear axle...would this Halo Spin Doctor be suitable?? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=20502

Thanks,
Jonny

ok we have still not identified what type of rear wheel you have now.

until we know that and what your O.L.D. of the rear wheel is you have a 50/50 chance of it fitting and a 50/50 chance of you not needing a new cassette.

that wheel set will not fit your bike. that axle will not for those wheels but might not fit your bike.

so 1 see your other post.

2 give more info on your bike or 3 post some pictures of your rear wheel.

  • What's O.L.D?? What's LBS??

It's a Claud Butler Pinelake. Bought in 2012 but could possibly be a 2011 model! It has a 26" wheel with 32 spokes. It runs a 1.95 tyre. And the cassette screws onto the hub as opposed to sliding on as with a free hub.
