...except for the tyres, they don't suit the classic look of the rest of the bike.

    wow!
  • Thanks guys. Very kind comments :D

Cheshire, if i could find tan sidewall tires that are durable enough, I'd put them on. Vredestein used to make them, but not anymore.

I'm a big lump, and Vredestein are the only tires I've used with which I never puncture.

Nice, but needs splash ribbon, a period Turbomatic saddle and gumwall tyres to complete the mid-90s race look. Vittoria, Veloflex, Challenge - or even Panaracer pasela if you have the clearance. And get rid of that bottle, it completely ruins it ;)

    Theres tidy.
  • You can't beat a bit of vintage steel, only thing I would change is the saddle, made a period Regal.
As for the tyres Michellin HD Comps can be bought on ebay, or veloflex amber wall from Planet X.

  • Great bike and great attention to detail. Saddle and bar tape are nasty: you're mashing 80's Eurotrash neon with 60's Gentleman's racer, too anachronistic. The panto stem tho is a work of art, I don't know how you found one - Bravo! I remember when Super Record crankarms and chainrings were pantographed with all sorts of colours and names.

As noted above, try Cinelli Microsplash: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-t ... inehbtp300

An original Flight or Turbo or Regal or Rolls would be nice: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-t ... ellsadd625

For tyres, any Challenge or Veloflex would do. Veloflexes have the benefit of being a good substitute for chocolate or butter of you're hungry mid-ride. http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-t ... haltyrf190

I don't work for Ribble, they just have nice stuff and give great customer service.

Just saying I've placed three separate orders through Ribble and not a single item out of them orders was in stock. They decided to ring me two weeks after the orders to tell me they didn't have them...

  • That must be some reach with the TT length and 13cm stem! Are you Mr Tickle?!
