Handle bar slip
I have Bontrager X Lite Blade VCR Carbon handlebars fitted to Bontrager XXX Carbon Stem and on more than one occasion after being on rough roads or hitting a hole the bars slip in the stem .
All the torques are correct , any ideas would be appreciated
Thanks

There is a specific paste that you have to put between the handlebar and the stem. do you use this paste? ( unfortunately I can't recall the name of this paste.. sorry)0

If the bolts have come loose (lower torque) then try Loctite on them?
If the bolts are still tight can you use that carbon paste for seatposts on handlebars?0 -
check the steerer tube, bolts and stem for any sign of damage or wear
make sure both steerer tube and inside of stem are degreased before fitting, it's easy to pick up a bit of grease from the headset when inserting the steerer
the torque rating on the stem is typically a maximum, usually you need much less to securely clamp, but it depends on components
as above, assembly paste can reduce the torque needed to secure the stemmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0
