Replacement bike?

I'm in a bit of a sticky situation right now. I would like to do Brighton Big Dog on my Voodoo Bantu and then sell my bike straight after for something more suitable.
The bike I have right now has on top of the original spec:
Suntour Raidon X3 (100mm not 120mm), Continental Race King folding 2.2", WTB Devo Thinline saddle, Deore Hollowtech crankset, XT rear mech, LX front mech but only is a 3 x 8 speed.
The bike I have now performs reasonably well on the South Downs on the bridleways and some basic trails. The issue is that I've tried to do some blue/red runs and some light DJ on it and it feels really out of place.
The really big issue is that I have a very low budget for a mountain biker and struggle to keep it running.
Can anyone suggest a way that I can get a 130-160mm travel bike with decent suspension? (weight and number of gears isn't really a focus point here)
Thanks

My god road cycling is scary! I'm going to keep my relaxing rides to the trails where everything is green, fast and less crazy.

Depends on what my Voodoo sells for. I'm guessing £600, £850 in October. My god road cycling is scary! I'm going to keep my relaxing rides to the trails where everything is green, fast and less crazy.0
