Cher Henri,

I wish to draw your attention to the behaviour of certain spectators and participants on this year's Tour de France. If the tour is still to be around in another 100 years we will have to address these issues with the utmost urgency.

Dogs and other livestock
There have been a number of incidents with stray dogs and other livestock such as cattle.

Fancy Dress
Self aggrandizing idiots wearing of fancy dress, stilts etc. are to be discouraged This is a bicycle race not a parade.

Running next to riders
I fear this is the result of the innovation of mountain stages in the tour, we have spectators running next to riders endangering both their own and competitor safety

Doping
There is talk of riders injecting strychnine and drinking copious amounts of hard liquor on stages.

Antics
Riders performing acrobatics and other antics should be frowned upon.

Crowding
Certain stages are becoming utter bedlam. It is worse than the Colosseum of ancient Rome with riders barely given breathing room and unable to advance

A great piece of work. Cheers. The controversies contribute hugely to the experience.

That must be Sagan's great grandad doing the handstand.

Bet people moaned that it was boring though, what with Philippe Thys winning by over 8 minutes and third being a staggering 3.5 hours behind plus the Peugeot team dominating the race, filling the top 3 places and having 6 men in the top 10.

Had a look at the route for that Tour and other than a small section of north west France as they detoured out of / back into Paris it really was a full circuit.
