Alternative shifters

I have a SRAM X0 DH 10 speed set up on my DH bike. I quite like the mech, easy to set up and never seems to need adjusting but I hate the shifter. It feels sloppy and cheap and doesn't release in both directions like Shimano. Is there an alternative shifter which will work with my SRAM mech? Price isn't an issue.

How about Microshift or something else?
Is SRAM XX any better? I bought the X0 because I thought the X9 was a bit nasty.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Buy x5, then at least you won't feel short changed....0

Microshift only works with Shimano and if you think an X0 feels sloppy......Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

X0 really isn't much better than X5. At £65 for a shifter it is crap.
Maybe it's time for a Saint shifter & mechTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I'd go for Shimano if you think the X0 is poor, it is way better than the X5 - maybe you have a dodgy one.0

Its better than the X9 I had before but not as nice as even the SLX shifters on my xc bikeTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

i think the SRAM shimano thing is very much a love hate thing
I hate shimano shifts are too light can't tell i've activated, and to me SRAM feels solid. others Shimano is light and nice and sram is clunky and heavy0 -
I prefer Shimano generally, but found the X0 a world apart from lower SRAM stuff when I tested them all for WMB. No lateral play in the levers, snappy action, infact I rated it above XTR.0

I agree, I find my SLX shifters much more positive than my SRAM X0Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Definitely thinking a knackered X0!0

opposite experience to me, having recently used some XTR 10 speed shifter mated to an XT mech.. really light shifts not at all how i like them.0 -

I find Shimanos pretty light, often double shift on my XTRs, particularly when the cables are new.
XX was much more 'deliberate' for want of a better word.0 -
I decided to give SRAM another try and ordered a new X0 shifter. If this one is no better im changing to a Saint mech and XTR shifter next time.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Not really. Saint because its tough and the XTR shifter because I really like the way they work and they last years.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Fitted a new X0 shifter this evening. The old one was definitely a duff one from new.
The new one feels much more positive than the last one ever was.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
