Magura Rim Brakes- HELP!

I am trying to help out a young lad next door with his Magura rim brakes. They seem to have both leaked at the lever (resevoir) end, having been bled at a shop not too long ago. Do these rebuild, or will they always be a source of angst and frustration? They have 2 mounts, one above the other. Are these unique to Maguras or can I take them off and put v brakes on?
