Evans Cycles - Courier Advice

Firstly I don't hold the blame with Evans Cycles as I understand they probably put there courier service out to tender.

A word of advice however when this does go to tender next don't renew with DPD.

I ordered a jersey on Sunday evening for a charity event taking place on Tuesday night (23th July).

To my horror Tuesday 5pm came & there was still no delivery. My wife had taken the day off to wait for the item to arrive it was that important as we all wanted to ride in the same team kit.

I had to phone them to be told the item could not fit on the van??? This is 1 order of a cycle top, no bigger or wider than an A4 envelope...... the driver could have put it on the passnager seat!

Last night i was sadly the only rider to ride without team kit thanks to the neglagnce of DPD.

To my shock I recieved a call this morning (24th July) to be told my parcel (which I now dont really need) is out for delivery & sorry that it missed the connecting warehouse for delivery yesterday, of which I replied..... "I thought you couldnt fit it on the van"

I have basically been lyed to by these frauds! No amount of 'compensation' can make up for not having the ordered jersey for a speacil occasion - and I'm not in it for that! I'm not one of these blame to claim people! if I pay for a service i expect to recieve it!

So Evans, I don't hold the blame with you but having used Wiggle for over 5 years I have never once had a problem or late delivery. Could I please advise you look at your courier contract in future as I wouldn't want DPD to bring your name down with them.

Thanks

Did you pay for next day delivery? If so you might have a point, if not then stop complaining ;-) Their web site says

"Over 98% of Next Day orders are delivered on time, in the unlikely event that your delivery is not attempted next day, we'll refund all delivery charges."

So assuming you paid for next day delivery, you can at least claim a refund of £4.99

Very frustrating when this happens - but always seems to happen to people who have left it right up to the last minute to place an order....

Feel your pain fella! It is not just DPD though, most of the couriers have their turn as being awful!

I waited in all day for a CityLink one a month or so ago, it got to 5.30 so I checked their website and apparently I was not in so they left a card at 5.15 and guess what?! I was in and there was no card! I gave some poor girl a right earful about it, didn't get me anywhere but I felt better!

If you're on facebook post a complaint there. To be honest though if I ordered something on a Sunday night I wouldnt expect it till the wednesday - infact something I ordered from crc on sunday has only just arrived. I understand your anger but ordering something you needed desperately 2 days before the event is cutting it fine to say the least.

I did indeed pay for next day delivery.

Sunday is plenty of time when you order 'next day delivery'. I'd rather they donate the £4.99 to charity than give it to me back, the lying & lack of service has been awful.

You can get next day delivery by choosing the post free option - not sure why they have it to be honest.

Yeah DPD are pretty poor, been let down by them quite a few times, both ordering from Evans and elsewhere.

Sometimes ticking ordinary delivery will get you it just as quick!
