Teide and Vilaflor

Heading over to Tenerife a week on Tuesday, already sorted out my hire bike for 5 days etc but how easy is it to navigate around the island? i want to specifically head up Teide and Vilaflor....will my iPhone on O2 work over there maps wise? whats the signposting like?

Onroad signage is actually pretty good. First few km from Los Cristianos is fairly busy, after that it is great!
