Chain pins for Shimano 105 chain

I figure there's not much point carrying a chain splitter without also something to join it back together again!
My chain is a 10-speed Shimano 105 5600.
Are these the right pins?

Shimano chains are crapola!
In the meantime, a fiver for some pins seems like a good insurance policy. Unless they're the wrong ones!
What's so crap about Shimano chains? Is the gorilla tired yet?0 -

IME Shimano chains do not run as well, are prone to side plates cracking and do not come with quick links as standard.
The stupid directional efforts are even worse (noisy no matter what) and I think even Shimano are dropping that particular chestnut.
Basically they have never been as good for me as KMC or SRAM, despite being generally more expensive than them.Yellow is the new Black.0 -

You can't rejoin them once you've opened it up!I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -

No, if you take any pin out you have to rejoin it with the special pin.
You're correct that if you have to split it again you should choose a different point though.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -
So, erm, all issues of KMC quicklinks and other brands aside,
are these the right pins for any Shimano 10-speed chain?
I don't want to take the chain off again just to fit a quicklink, the spare pin is just for the saddle bag - insurance so that I can rejoin the chain if it breaks out on a ride.
Next new chain I'll probably get a KMC and fit a removeable link.Is the gorilla tired yet?0 -
yes
but ffs just get the kmc links
a) takes about 1 minute to cut the chain and fit one
b) you can easily remove/refit chains for cleaning/maintenance
c) if you do have a chain break on the road you'll probably need to cut off the damaged outer plates plus an inner link and then fit a new pin, so your chain will be shortened, using a kmc link is much faster to fit and keeps the chain length the samemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Ok, I get the message!
