The kettle's on- grab a chair and join the circle.

My name is Tusher and I'm a addicted to following Professional Bicycle Racing.

I've spent the morning wandering around the house not knowing what to do with myself. No stage this afternoon to watch, no podcasts to listen to, I still have to hide my addiction to friends by pretending to check e-mails when I'm actually checking my phone for twitter, and I want to hit all those men (and they are all men) who, since SKY arrived, know everything there is to know about cycling. I've been addicted for years, I'll have you know.
I followed Robert Millar. In print.

Groan.

To make up for the lack of racing, I have just now bought myself for the bargain price of £7 Fallen Angel (Coppi), Merckx: Half Man, half Bike & Roule Britannia by William Fotheringham. They should fill some of the space between now & the start of the Vuelta

Does anyone know when the DVD box set is coming out? WIth choices of commentary from ITV/Eurosport or *insert language/channel of choice*

Well that's it, all over, finished.

I think I managed it quite well, hardly watched any of it really, apart from the live itv4 stuff and the highlights, obviously. I am so much in control that I didn't even watch the closing credits of the highlights show last night and that had nothing to do with the control order insisting I have to be in bed by midnight, honest!

    When does the Vuelta start?

I'm listening to old podcasts I never got around to listening to the morning before the stage. ITV highlights tonight too, Usually it's Wednesday when the craving really kicks in...

I can give it up anytime I like.

That's a lie. Going for a recovery troll.

  • I still have a couple of time trial highlight shows to catch up on.

    ^This.

I've been sent home from work early too because our building was TOO hot.

I'm now going to watch last night's episode of Les Revenants for some Annecy undead action.

I think I'm coming out the other side of my Glandular fever, hoping to get out on the bike next week! I'm honing my Chris Froome riding style and browsing undercut hair dos.

Thought I'd be a bit restless and sad today but the weather at the beach cottage is making it hard! Just had long jog to this.

It's only one of the GTs, and I think they're considering holding it next year. It was a forgone conclusion as well. Roll on the Vuelta, might not get a joke winner this year either. Bonus!

    Good choices!

....My favourite area to ride in Cambridgeshire is inside the triangle of the A14, A1 & A605 (Stilton, Oundle, Thrapston, Huntingdon), Stilton is a really nice village for a mid-ride stop!

I ride up there on club runs sometimes, its a nice area! Quiet roads and good surfaces generally.

South Cambridgeshire and Befordshire on the other hand is a little more grim!

    Argh.

I too only watched the cycling when it was on and I was awake. At no stage did I watch it when it wasn't on or when I was asleep...

I watched through Cosmo Catalano's how the race was won recaps for the tour the other day to relive it a bit, and they helped relieve some of the post tour angst

  • I am on a low :

Was on hols in Var region with the family ( wife and two daughters ), staying an apartment with UK Sky, so watched ITV4 highlights most nights, took a day trip to Larange (55k from Gap) to watch Stage 16 (great day out - daughter getting a wave from Dave Brailsford for waving her union flag towel). Watched all of ITV coverage of Stage 19 Bourg - 6 hrs inside, while it was 35c outside. We moved to a hotel near the coast, where I watched France 2 coverage in the afternoon, but I missed the final hours (c'mon, we're going out for dinner.....).

Bought a L'Equipe on the Monday morning.

Read Ned Boulting's book and got half way through David Millar's.

    Obsessed - me ?

He's good and spots a lot of stuff, but I was disappointed that he completely overlooked the key tactical moment of the Tour which was, on Stage 9, when Froome was isolated, Valverde and Plaza attacked and Froome responded, but not immediately. It was a perfect defence - one false move and things could/would have been a lot different.
