My rd2300 broke.

rd2300 has now been replaced by 2400 - and when I ordered it, did not spot that it has a long and short cage variety (don't think that choice existed for rd2300).

accidentally got long, when really needed short -(53/39 and max 25t on rear) can I get away with it?

cheers

Pete

It'll need a slightly longer chain, but otherwise a long cage works anywhere a short cage does. Is there some reason you can't send it back to exchange it for what you really wanted though?

Should work fine, if you choose to keep it. The length of the cage doesn’t make a lot of difference to shifting quality.

Where did you get it? I’m looking for the Claris FD-2400 front derailleur and can’t find it in stock anywhere.

    sorry for slow reply -
