Anyone else do it?
It was my first time and thought it a really excellent event. I ventured down from Yorkshire to ride it with a mate, and a bunch of his Ipswich Bike Club buddies.
It is a really nice route of lovely lanes, overnight from London to Dunwich on the Suffolk coast.
Everyone was happy, chatty and friendly. And once out of london there were enough people so you were almost always with other groups, but not too m\ny you couldn't ride at a good pace.
I will definitely do it agin

Yup - first timer as well. Thought it was excellent - I'm used to night riding having done a couple of 24hr events so really fancied giving it a crack
Once you get outside the North Circular the roads are pretty quiet and the course is great. Loved the pop up refreshment stands in people's gardens. Coffee and a bacon buttie at 2am - lovely
Was just me and a mate but we hooked onto a group of 4 other guys about 30 miles in and rode the rest with them. Did it in 6h45 in the end - still dark when we got to Dunwich for breakfast
Unfortunately the sun didn't materialise so at 6am (having been there for 2 hours already) we decided to forgo the intended swim and ride in the mist/drizzle down to Ipswich and get the train back. Another 32 miles - so 150 for the day
Every type of bike was out - saw fixies, SS, hybrids, MTBs, recumbants, a team from MacMillian Cancer riding post office delivery bikes, tandems, a penny farthing(!). Think a unicycle was pretty much the only thing I didn't see. Reckon there were about 4-5k people out
