Hi all
I am looking at getting a new mountain bike under the £800 mark using the cycle to work scheme, I will be using the new bike for basic trail riding. I have selected 2 bikes and would like some opinions on my choices from more experienced riders please.
Below are the 2 choices
Boardman Mountain Bike Team 2012/2013 - Medium 18"
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165499
2013 CUBE ACID 26 HARDTAIL MOUNTAIN BIKE
http://www.dalescycles.com/2013-cube-ac ... bike-p5877
I have come across some brand snobbery concerning the Boardman but when comparing the specs to other similarly priced bikes it does come out on top. So my issue is when looking at individual components which bike comes out on top?
Any input would be appreciated

Boardman is around 1.3kg lighter with a better fork with more travel. On the rest if the parts some are cube win, some are boardman depending upon your sram/shimano preference.
I'd pick the boardman.0 -
Thanks for the input, I am more for the Boardman at the moment its just I am getting a lot of negative feedback regarding the quality of the assembly of the bikes from Halfords
Are the SRAM parts and the Shimano parts comparable ranges or is the boardmands a range above?0 -
So go round the bike and check things before you ride. Something you should do with any bike anyway.I don't do smileys.
