Sora derailleur vs ultegra

Just got a sora from derailleur put on to tide me over as my old ultegra one has had its day. On getting the bike back from LBS i noticed its in a lower position than my ultegra one. Is there size difference between the 2? Ideally i wanted derailleur in same position as previous one as paint work is scuffed from old derailleur.

any help would be appreciated

    How far above the big ring is the derailleur? Ideally it should be a few mm above the edge of the ring. If it is any lower it can cause chain mis-feeds when changing up and down on the front ring.

    It seems in the correct position i dont undertsand how my previous ultegra one was so high up though.
