Strange pedal click
Please have a look at this video guys.
From the start i am out of the saddle, with a high gear, and upon pressure both sides seem to click. The camera picks this up really well but its not as loud in person. After a change in gears in the middle i up the cadence with less pressure and it doesnt click, and then returns again when i change near the end. I had this on one side a few months back and the bike shop said it was just a loose pedal, and tigthened it up and fixed the problem. Since then i have had to remove my pedals for transport purposes, and it seems to still do it however tight i try to get them on the crank. Any ideas what I should do? I have tried removing, cleaning with GT84 and wiping all the dirt away but it still happens. Also tried tightening and cleaning the cleats (which needed doing) but it still persists.
more annoying than anything else!

I'd say its gears tbh !
change the pedals and see what happens.0 -
I had a click the other week, soon as it came it went, then it re-appeared the other week - I tried to isolate doing this - grab a crank arm and move it side to side - I found it made the same click, It was a bolt on the crank had come loose - to be fair it does say in the docs to check for looseness.
I've aso had clicks due to pedals, which was cured taking the off and re tightening. Normally if its a cassette issue you can feel the chain jump. The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.0 -
Try taking off pedals little bit of grease on thread then do them up tight!0

Thanks guys. Iv had quite a few suggestions for regreasng the pedals so i just got some grease and will give iit a go.
Although thats least of my worries as i broke the derailleur hanger going up a climb in wales at the weekdnd. Doh!0 -
I've had my bike in the shop today with a very similar noise, mainly in a big gear and/or when I stand. They took it apart and found I had no grease on the BB, sorted it out for me and the noise is all gone. Might be worth looking into if other solutions don't work.0

Just in case anyone was wondering, I took the pedals off, gave the threads a good greasing. Also I checked all the front cogs and crank arms for loose bolts, of which there was two, and I also found the bottle cage bolts were a bit loose.
Now it runs perfect0
