What width wheel (internal), how much room do you have between the tyres and chainstays, you almost certainly will not need new tubes.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

im not sure what size of internal wheel, any way to tell?...i have 1cm of space between the chainstay

I was thinking of 26x2.2 tyres but not sure if there will be enough space for them?

1.95" to 2.2" (assuming they come up right, which is a big assumption) is 6mm wider, 3mm per side, so 1cm should be ample.

Measure them by taking the tyre and tube off and measuring how wide the rim is internally, that or look for specs for the bike and or rim!

Hi alex,i have kenda 26 x 2.3 front and rear, they've always held up pretty well and i've been riding my gt for a few years now but mainly for commuting and some trails.I was thinking of changing them but now i might just get them again although the walls cave in after a while but you get your moneys worth out of them. You can also get tubeless tyres but not sure if kenda do these in tubeless. If you live in the u.s you also go for the wtb wolverines 2.2.I've been told these are really good by a professional gt rider. Also very cheap at $25 each.
