Has anyone done this route please ?

I plan to ride to Planet Thanet tomorrow and need to know if this coastal route is suitable for a bunch of Roadies on 700x23 tyres.

Thank in anticipation.

Al

Yes I've done it, it's fine. There is quite a narrow path along the sea wall on the run into Reculver but nothing difficult? I was on a Pearson Touché fixed with 77x23 tyres.
  • Many thanks

  • Hi Al, the sea wall between Reculver and Minnis Bay is a mixture of Tarmac and concrete. The joints in the concrete are a bit bumpy but not too severe. Once you get to Epple Bay stay on the coast road as the promenade is very busy this time of year and there are a couple of places with restrictions on bikes before 6pm. Enjoy your day on the Planet..
