Hi I'm new to cycling and I'm on a low budget for an old road bike I can build up over time.
I'm just about 6foot and I was remotely decent road bike. I'm really not sure what's good and what's not or even what's decent.

I searched the web and I found these three bikes that look decent to me however I can't make much sense of the specs since I'm pretty new to this stuff. Can someone please tell me which one of these bikes looks the most appealing?

Thanks in advance would be a really big help

Since we have no ebay pics to work with, let me suggest something else. There are plenty of places you can look and find a half decent road bike on a low budget. Forget all the snobbery and look in places like Halfords and chain stores like Decathlon that do BTwin. They are by no means state of the art , but to a new rider they will still be a good bike to get out there on. I really wouldnt look too much into groupsets and wheels as a beginner. Its getting out there and riding and picking up knowledge on the way. If you decide later on on a better bike and know what you are going for then go for it. As a beginner you just want to go out and ride and with nothing to compare it against, most will feel good.

Don't forget to look at the Carrera at Halfords, the virtuoso is a good bike for the money.I had one as my first bike and still use it.

After seeing the adds, I would go for the Peugeot. They had an amazing reputation in the 70's and 80's

Personally I wouldn't buy a bike from eBay - far too many stolen bikes for sale. IMHO you can't decide whether to buy a second hand bike without seeing it, sitting on it to see if it fits and inspecting it for crash damage.

I've bought two good used bikes from ebay and sold one over the years. If you ask the seller for a phone number and have a blether it's easy enough to suss out if they're genuine and if the bike isn't as described you just ask for a refund. Lots to choose from so if you get bad vibes walk away.

I have a carrera tdf and been riding for about a year.
I think it's a great bike and you can't go wrong with the price.
Hit many miles on it and have no problem riding with others that have spent 3k on a bike.
Yea it weighs in and 11.5 kg and its probably not got the best parts on it.
But hell a first bike on a budget is great.
Upgrade the pedals is a must and the tyres.
