Fulcrum Racing 5 rattle

Hoping someone can help.
My Fulcrum Racing 5 front wheel is brand new and on the first ride I noticed a rattle come from the front of the bike on rough road surfaces. I've taken the tyre and tube off to make sure nothing has got caught up in the rim and it seems it is coming from the hub itself. I tried my front wheel from my other bike and there was no rattle so it's definitely the new wheel. Also when I bounce the wheel on the ground (small height!!) I can hear the rattle.
Has anyone else come across this type of thing? Is it acceptable/normal or should I just return it for a replacement?

Could be the valve. Try wrapping it in a piece of insulation tape to stop it rattling against the rim. Oh, and don't use the stupid little valve nut.0

Deffo not the valve or the QR as it still made the noise with both removed.
Guess it could be a spoke issue - they all 'feel' tight but am nervous of adjusting in case I end up buckling it!!
If anything I would say it's coming from the hub itself.0 -
Got the exact same issue with mine , everything is tight and fitted correctly but something sound loose, if I bounce the front end of the bike from about a inch I hear a echoy rattle . Bike going in for first service next week so will get it looked at0

heard of this before it turned out to be a small bit of weld material rattling round the rim0

I have this problem with a American Classic victory front wheel, tightened the hubs and it's much better. Their instructions say there should be a little play with the skewer tightened! Sounds wrong to me, I just gave it full beans and it still spins smoothly.
Thought I had the same problem with rear, turned out to be the valve nut. Remove and bin!0 -
Spoke to shop today and was told to tighten the caps up so will have a look later , front and rear have a tiny amount amount of play which is causeing the problem0

Interesting...let us know how you get on.
I took the wheel in to my LBS today which is where the bike came from. In fairness they were pretty busy and didn't have time to look at it properly. They did stick it on another bike and sort of admitted there was a noise but it's going to have to go back next week for a more thorough look at it.
It seems I'm not the only one with this problem, I'm sure it will turn out to be something simple so will post the results once I've got to the bottom of it.0 -
Got fed up with the rattle do decided to have a look a few you tube videos on hub adjustment, dug out my cone spanners and had a fiddle. The cones felt very tight, no play in them at all so loosened them off a bit, tightened the lock nut on one side then proceeded to nip the other side up until it felt like there was only a small amount of play, tightened up the lock nut, back on the bike and.........drum roll.......... the rattle had gone!!!
Taken the bike out on a quick test run up the road which has the sh!tty new surface dressing road finish which is basically like riding on gravel thats been super glued stone be stone to the tarmac and still no rattle.
I'm on a club run tomorrow morning so will get the resident mechanic to give it the once over to make sure I've done it all correctly but right now I'm feeling rather pleased with myself.0 -
Glad it's sorted mate , getting mine done next week0
