Hi,
I am servicing Shimano MT15 wheel rear hub. PDF doc says there should be 9 balls each side. I counted 8 so 16 in total. Now after refitting 8 there seems to be quite big gap. Should I leave as it was 8 or go for Shimano document and put 9 each side.
And yes they all the same size 1/4.

Almost all are 9 a side - make sure none have dropped into the hub body.0

Nope. Removed hub and double checked...2 are missing. Is it possible factory worker had a bad day?0

If you can easily fit another in there I would do so.0

A general (not specifically bikes) rule of thumb was (a long time ago) one ball less than the maximum number that would fit in the race.0

ok, i will stick to 8 then. 9 seems to be tight.0
