Groupset Packaging - Size & Weight

I was planning on getting a groupset (105) posted to a friend and getting them to bring it to me when they visit later this year. I was wondering what size and weight with packaging is it likely to be.
Saw a bike build online and they had numerous boxes all big enough to be a PITA to ask someone to carry in their suitcase. Would it be OK to take all of the sturdier pieces out of the boxes and lay in a suitcase?

The only piece that is quite large and awkward is the drive side crank, as it comes complete with chainrings and the spindle so is bulky in 3 dimensions. If your friend isn't mechanically inept he could remove the chainrings, that would reduce one dimension to the size of the spider. The rest of it is fairly small and/or flat.0

I've never bought a groupset before so not sure if it comes with any oil or such on it, but some bits are sharp, so maybes get your friend to pack in sealable bags so not to ruin his own stuff!0
