Hi There
I am new to cycling, bought an old road bike to see if I commit to it or not. The bike is in good condition but I want to change the tyres. It currently has 700c x 22 tyres. Am I able to change these to 700c x 23 tyres?

Yes. But unless the tyres are worn beyond use, then the 1mm difference is not worth the bother in your situation.

You can change to 77x23c or 700x25c if the frame/brakes will take the extra width and height.

Don't want to appear pedantic but as O/P is new to road bikes and asking here if a 23 is ok, I'm guessing it's not likely that the information about sufficient frame/brake clearance for 23's or 25's is known. If in doubt, you'll see no difference in 23's.
