I am looking for a bike frame.
I require a tall head tube and want steel.
What is available?
I have considered Audax frames but understand that they may be heavier than required.

The bike is to be used for club runs and fast riding.
I do not want carbon and a stack of spacers

    Thanks.
I looked at custom builds and it appears to be out of budget.

Aah, you didn't mention a budget. Schoolboy error when asking for buying advice ;)

    £800 for a frame.
Head tubes are generally too short and top tubes are too long.

  • I ride a Roubaix and wanted an all weather alternative so I worked with Justin Burls to replicate the position on my Roubaix with added mudguard clearance in Titanium. The frame was £950, if you look on his website Burls Prices he'll do steel for between £7-800.

If I'm totally honest I prefer riding the Burls to the Roubaix.

This was taken a couple of years ago and some components have changed but you get the idea.

    Thats a nice bike Dave.
I have contacted Rourke and there is a long wait.
I am sure it is worth it.
I have looked at Genesis but do not think the frame will fit.
Are there any other producers of quality steel frames at sensible prices?

Phoned Bob Jackson but they are not doing custom frames as too busy at present

    Try http://volagi.com/bikes
I think there's a steel version of the Liscio now.
